Soap and Mirrors

The Prophet Moses was an amazing guy.
He had that cool rod/staff thing. He could be very handy with a plague.
He talked with God, delivered Israel from bondage, and oversaw the erecting of the Tabernacle.
Moses is, hands down, the most revered person in the Old Testament, largely because, through Moses, God gave us his holy and perfect law.

But, while the Law is truly wonderful, it will not help you enter the Kingdom of Heaven because, like a mirror, the Law only has the ability to reveal what our problems are; the Law of Moses has no way to make a person clean.

Consider John 1:17, “For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”

Bottom line: Don’t try to earn your way into the Kingdom through the keeping of the Law. If you want to be clean, you don’t need the “Mirror of Moses,” you need the soap and water of Jesus.

Yes, Moses was an awesome Prophet of God who turned water into blood and was proficient with plagues.
But Jesus is the glorious Son of God who turned water into wine and is an expert in resurrections.

Although it is beautiful and perfect, keep the mirror and pass the soap. We need Jesus.
