A Good Soldier
LISTEN TO AUDIO
A soldier’s life is not glamorous, comfortable or easy. Lousy food, heavy loads, sleepless nights, combat, injury, danger and death – these are the burdens born by the shoulders of those who wear the uniform. A good soldier doesn’t complain. A good soldier, despite fatigue and opposition, fights on and persists no matter what the cost. A good soldier does not expect to be pampered, but instead understands that bombs, bullets and injury are all part of the job.
2 Tim 2:3 “You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.”
The life of a Christ follower is not glamorous, comfortable or easy. Heavy loads, sleepless nights, combat, injury, danger and death – these are the burdens born by the shoulders of those who call themselves servants of the King. A good Christian doesn’t complain. A good Christian, despite fatigue and opposition, fights on and persists no matter what the cost. A good Christian does not expect to be pampered, but instead understands that difficulty, struggle and challenge are all part of the job.
Don’t give up. Don’t whine. Press on. Endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
